Between 2007 and 2009, a surge of Venezuelan tourists visited Curaçao, overwhelming the available hotel accommodations. Seeing this demand, Haitham envisioned an alternative—a comfortable yet affordable place near the beach where his Venezuelan friends could stay.
This vision became Casa Amalia, named after the Venezuelan actress Amalia Pérez Díaz.
Later, a Dutch tour operator discovered Casa Amalia and saw its potential. They were eager to offer Casa Amalia to their clients.
Today, Casa Amalia has become a beloved accommodation for many Dutch tourists.
