Please take a moment to read this valuable information so that you are fully informed about our way of doing things.

These conditions apply to all bookings!

SMOKING

Casa Amalia is a guesthouse that is specially designed for people who do not smoke. Since smokers also like to come to us, we have created a special section for our guests who smoke. It is NOT allowed to smoke inside our accommodations or in the courtyard. This also applies to e-cigarettes. If you choose to smoke in an accommodation, we have the right to charge you a €250 fine or evict you. DRUGS The use of narcotics is illegal in Curaçao. If you use drugs on our property or we find drugs in your accommodation we will inform the police.

ELECTRICITY

The electricity in Curaçao is 110 Volt, 50 Hz. Sometimes there are periods when we experience power outages in some neighborhoods, and sometimes across the entire island. Fortunately it doesn't happen every day.

AIR CONDITIONING

Air conditioners have consequences for the climate because they consume a lot of electricity and also contain refrigerant. The refrigerant has a major climate impact.

Please be climate-friendly: turn off the air conditioning when you are not at home, and when you have the air conditioning on, make sure that all shutters and doors are closed.

CHILDREN

Casa Amalia is an Adults Only accommodation, which means that we welcome guests aged 16 and older.

PETS

Pets are not allowed with us.

Our check-in is self check-in.

A late check-out gives you the option to check out until 6 p.m.
You pay €50 for a late check-out for a bedroom, and €75 for an apartment.

Do you want to check out later than 6 p.m.? Then you pay for an extra night.
Our rates are on our website, under the title rates.

CLEANING

Upon arrival you will receive a small paper in your envelope stating the days on which your accommodation will be cleaned. A change in the schedule may occur.

Cleaning of the accommodations starts at 8:00 AM. The housekeeper has 10 minutes per accommodation. She has to be ready by 10am. After this, the housekeeper has to do the deep cleanings of the checked-out accommodations and prepare them for the next guests who will be checking-in from 3 p.m.
If the housekeeper cannot enter your accommodation, she will go to the next accommodation.
There is a great chance that she cannot come back to your accommodation.
At 3 p.m. the housekeeper lady is done for the day and she goes home.

PESTS

Regularly dispose of your waste in the green bins in the parking lot. This way you have the least chance of pests in your accommodation!

You can get new garbage bags from us if necessary.

In the tropics it is very important that you regularly dispose of your waste and keep your room clean, otherwise you will quickly get ants and cockroaches in your accommodation.

TAP WATER

Tap water in Curaçao is distilled from seawater. It is completely safe to drink and meets the highest quality standards of the World Health Organization.

OUR FACILITIES

Our facilities are exclusively for our guests only. Visitors are not allowed to use our facilities.

POOL

We have a dip pool. The use of the dip pool is only for our guests and entirely at your own risk. Our dip pool is 1 meter deep, so no diving.

Our pool is cleaned twice a week by a pool cleaning company. We kindly ask for your cooperation so that they can do their work.

It is not allowed for women to be topless in still around the pool. In our culture, topless is vulgar.

Do not use glass or wine glasses in or around the pool. Keep it safe for yourself and others!

You can use the plastic cups if you want to drink something at the pool.

We have a limited number of lounge chairs at the pool, so there are never many people around the pool. There is sufficient seating in the pool so that our guests can have a nice conversation with each other. If no one is sitting on a lounger, it is free for someone who wants to sit on it. A towel on a lounger without a person will be removed and hung on the washing line.

TOWELS

In the bathroom you will find 2 large white towels, 1 small white towel, 1 white mat and 2 large blue towels. The white towels are for use in the bathroom, and the blue towels are for use at the pool. The available towels are replaced during cleaning. You must bring your own towels/bath towels for the beach.

All towels must be left at the property upon check-out. This also applies to the blue towels. If you lose our towels, we will charge the following costs: large white towel €15, small white towel €10, white mat €15 and large blue towel €20.

WET CLOTHES

We have a long clothes line behind the apartment building where our guests can hang their wet clothes to dry.

With our tropical sun, the clothes are dry within 15 minutes. If you leave the clothes on the clothesline for a long time you are more likely to get bird droppings on them.

Please do not hang towels or clothes over the balcony or on the lamps. Use the clothesline.

LAUNDRY FACILITIES

We do not have laundry facilities for guests, but on the main road you will find laundry MR. Laundry.

EXTRA BED

We do not have extra beds.

All our accommodations have 1 double bed, so a maximum of 2 people per accommodation.

INSECT REPELLANT

We kindly ask you not to spray repellant while you are in your room/apartment. Repellant is a heavy poison that if it gets on the furniture it bleaches the color of the furniture, and repellant that ends up on the floor poses a major risk of slipping for yourself.
Please do not place the repellant bottle on the furniture

Use the repellant when you are in the parking lot and you can leave your repellant in the car so that you always have it close by.

PARKING SPACE

You can use our parking lot for free, but it is entirely at your own risk.
We are not responsible for your car.
It is wise to take out All Risk insurance when you rent a car.
